We are currently recruiting for graduates to join our business functions. Our two-year structured graduate training programme offers an unrivalled environment for graduates looking for a career in a challenging International commercial environment.

The programme will develop the foundations of your career path by providing a series of stretching business-related work placements across the company. You will be supported by your mentor and line managers, but we expect you to take responsibility for driving your development from the earliest stages of your career.

Designed for individuals who combine excellent academic achievement with the ability to work within, and lead a team, you will need to be hard-working with plenty of ambition and excellent communication skills.

Working in our business functions

The two main business functions in which you would be working are responsible for MBDA’s key relationships with its customers and suppliers in support of business winning and existing contracts. Our procurement function is responsible for managing and developing relationships with suppliers and partners, who provide highly complex items of equipment as part of our supply chain. Our commercial function is responsible for managing, and developing the relationships with our customers, understanding their requirements and finding solutions to meet their needs.

To be successful in these roles you will need to have the ability to grasp complex information from a variety of sources quickly, and to determine the most commercially advantageous way forward. You will work in integrated multi-disciplined project teams, and as part of your graduate placements you will develop extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of some of the following skills:

  • Bid management
  • Estimating and pricing
  • Project Management and planning
  • Risk management
  • Commercial awareness
  • Financial management
  • Negotiating and influencing
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Contract drafting, negotiation and management of changes
  • Working in multi-functional and multinational teams, both in UK , Europe and beyond

There will also be opportunities for you to continue your academic development through university and professional training programmes linked to your role.

Qualifications required

To apply you’ll need to have, or be expecting to achieve, a 2:1 honours degree or higher in a business discipline or similar. Language skills in French, German or Italian are also an advantage, though not essential.

Skills required

Some work experience would be valuable, but not vital. We would expect to see graduates with the ability to work in a team, or individually, but always with initiative and enthusiasm. You should have the ability to develop strong working relationships with your colleagues and customers, and you will have a business focus, with the drive and determination to succeed.
