MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver for a more secure tomorrow
A fixed-term contract of 12-15 months
Salary £65K+ dependent on experience + bonus + benefits
An opportunity has arisen to join a proactive and motivated commercial team, in a sector committed to delivering Defence Capability to the UK Armed Forces and other World Governments, covering all aspects of the product lifecycle from concept to disposal.
This particular role is a leadership position within the Future Systems Delivery area, with responsibility for the overall commercial delivery of a portfolio of contracts.
Responsible for all commercial aspects of Future Systems Contracts, this includes domestic contracts with several branches of the Ministry of Defence and a range of Industrial Customers.
Be a subject matter expert in complex commercial issues, notably Intellectual Property.
Responsible for the quality and timeliness of the teams commercial output.
Hold delegated authority for approvals, signatory of agreements and contracts on behalf of the organisation.
Effectively communicating with wider teams in order to support opportunities and implement commercial policy and process and ensuring a consistent commercial position across the business.
Dealing with Directors, Sector and Project Heads when contract issues are escalated for resolution.
Responsible for all stages of the commercial life cycle from early engagement, bidding, contract management and closure.
Responsible for delivering sector reporting, metrics, audit obligations and functional requirements for the commercial directorate.
What were looking for
Someone who can maximise identified business opportunities and implement commercial objectives and associated activities to support such opportunities. This includes the development of commercial strategies, contracting arrangements and approaches to commercial through life management.
Someone with contract drafting skills including different agreement types, with an awareness of UK Ministry of Defence Conditions being preferable.
Someone who can manage a wide range of variation of complexity in role, with a positive outlook to change.
A strong commercial problem solver who understands and can manage commercial risk.
A strong presenter with experience of taking bids through approvals and managing a wide range of commercial stakeholders.
Ability to follow and empower a team to follow commercial processes ensuring compliance.
Forms part of the senior management team, working closely with the Sector Heads and supporting the multifunctional leadership aspects of the area to deliver our promises to multiple customer.
Is an effective communicator, both internally; informing a wide range of stakeholders, and externally; building and maintaining a good working relationship with customer counterparts.
Has the ability to set out strategies relating to the negotiation of complex commercial situations to the benefit of the company, whilst taking in to account the wider commercial implications.
Is able to be the point of contact for any contractual information and agreements including obtaining and implementing legal advice with ability to guide teams through commercial issues.
