APPLICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE WILL CLOSE ON THE 21st JANUARY 2022

IT Cyber Analyst Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6)

MBDA offers a four-year degree programme for its cyber analyst apprentices. It is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a growing IT systems team and gain hands on experience within the IT sector, focusing on cyber security within MBDA.

What you will be doing

Our apprentices will study towards a Bachelor's degree in Digital and Technology Solutions, with the chosen specialism of Cyber Analyst, at MK:U on a day release basis. The remainder of the week will be spent within the IT systems function undertaking rotational placements with a key focus on the cyber security team, whilst earning a competitive salary and access to all of the company benefits.

This is a superb opportunity to allow you to earn an academic and nationally recognised qualification, as well as gain hands on experience within a professional and friendly workplace.

The majority of the scheme will be spent within the Security Operations Centre (SOC). Our mission in the SOC is to provide a round the clock detection and response service that protects our business from sophisticated Cyber threats using a range of different cyber technologies. Through monitoring our networks, using pioneering security tools, we are able to identify suspicious activities and stop any potential threats before they are realised.
You will get hands on experience with all the tools used within the SOC, be able to take ownership of a wide range of alerts, and assist in security investigations.

In addition to this placements will include:

  • CSi (Customer Support and Infrastructure) who are responsible for the delivery of Server / Storage / Backup and client devices.
  • IS (Information Systems) who are responsible in the delivery of Business and Enterprise applications.
  • Networks who are responsible for the delivery of the transport layer providing all the connectivity and security for IT services.
  • Information Security Team, in the Security Directorate under the CISO.

Study on this apprenticeship will be a blend of virtual and face to face, using a ‘Book-end’ approach: 3 or 2 days at the start and end of each module (in person) ; 6 full day sessions in between over 9 module weeks (online).

MK:U is Cranfield’s brand-new undergraduate brand; backed by government and business. This new kind of university was designed with business and inspired by new technologies.

Education at MK:U is different from other universities. Instead of traditional lectures and exams, MK:U’s entire curriculum uses problem-based learning (PBL) as our core educational approach.
