Reports to: Senior OHA

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced adaptable OH technician who also likes the challenge of administration multi-tasking and is great working with new developing practices and systems. The role will support the team in delivering a best practice health & wellbeing, health management and health surveillance (OH) service to employees.

The Role

  • Delivering a proactive face to face technical function involving health surveillance, lifestyle screening and health & wellbeing campaigns (50%)
  • Providing an OH service administration function (50%) supporting the OH Manager and OH team
  • Managing the occupational health database (Cohort) and providing statistical analysis data

What are we looking for?

  • 5 GCSE’s grades A-C (or equivalent) – Essential
  • Experienced OH Technician with a Health care NVQ level 2/3 qualifications - Essential
  • Training in OH health screening/surveillance Essential
  • Phlebotomy/ECG skills - Desirable
  • Travel health experience - Desirable
  • Business Administration experience or qualification -Desirable
  • Passionate about health & wellbeing
  • A self-starter - to succeed in this role, you need to be proactive, organised and able to multi-task well

Training and Development

You’ll be able to choose between a variety of online learning platforms such as Percipio, YouLearn, Career Builder and Video Gateway. Each one is tailored to a specific type of learning. Speak to your line manager to find out more. 

We encourage new learning and will provide up to £150 in financial support per year if you wish to participate in further study in your own time. You’ll have access to our Learning Gateway, which hosts the formal course catalogue and is where you can select the right training for your role and future development. The catalogue displays which courses are being delivered virtually or are classroom based. If you want to lead a team, you might be interested in our management training, designed for people of all experience levels.

Security Clearance

All employees at MBDA are required to hold UK Security or BPSS Clearance. To gain this clearance you are required to meet the government standard for eligibility. If your application to MBDA is successful, we'll need to check your eligibility, which means seeing your birth certificate and/or passport and educational certificates. Security vetting and medical clearance will also be undertaken.
