MBDA Employees Selected to Study UK New Executive MBA in Defence Export
This year, four MBDA employees will start their studies at Cranfield University as part of the first class to embark on the Executive MBA in Defence Export. The Defence Enterprise Export Programme (DEEP), supported by MBDA and other Defence Growth Partnership (DGP) supporting firms, aims to grow existing skills in export specialists and deliver an additional pipeline of export talent to the UK defence industry.
DEEP provides a career pathway and a secondment model that enables individuals to move between firms and roles in order to build key skills and experience whilst benefitting from mentoring opportunities. Students on the programme study towards an industry-accredited Executive MBA, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Defence Export, undertaking modules including defence and security marketing, offset strategies and legal, ethical and political frameworks, amongst others.
"It's been a privilege to have been selected to undertake the Executive MBA through the DEEP initiative. The bespoke academic element of the programme offers a great opportunity for my personal development, which will in turn benefit MBDA.
"The development of the career pathway and secondment and loan model also represents a major opportunity for me and my fellow delegates to broaden our knowledge and experiences, with the aim of maintaining and improving the performance of UK defence companies in the ever tougher export market.
"It's rare to see such a dedicated focus on mid-level career development, however DEEP highlights the extent to which UK Defence firms value their employees and the potential value that they believe they can add." - Ryan, Export Sales Executive at MBDA and a member of the first cohort of DEEP students
MBDA has led the development of the DEEP initiative as part of its role within the Defence Growth Partnership which is working to secure a truly competitive, sustainable and globally successful UK Defence sector that provides affordable leading-edge capability and through-life support for our Armed Forces and international customers, as well as bringing wider economic benefits to the UK.
