National Apprenticeship Week Spotlight: Jordan

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 2019, we ask Business Degree Apprentice Jordan about his experiences and advice for those who are considering what to do once they leave school.

Name: Jordan Stevens

What do you do?

First year Business Degree Apprentice currently work in Major Equipment Procurement which involves managing relationships with external suppliers.

Why did you choose an apprenticeship?

I Really wanted to gain real life work experience while learning at the same time. I am completing a degree which is fully funded by MBDA. I am able to apply what I learn at university to the real business environment. Being a full time student didn’t appeal to me!

What inspired you to work in the industry?

Defence is so varied with lots of different roles, and the work seems really interesting.

What would you say to students who are considering their career options?

The path you take is completely up to you. However, working whilst studying for a paid degree is invaluable, it’s a fantastic opportunity!

What has been your most memorable or proudest moment?

I haven’t been here long at all, but probably obtaining an excellent review in my first placement and making an excellent start to life at MBDA. I have already been on a product testing trial as well!
