A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced or aspiring Non-Conformance Manager to join an established Quality team within the Force Protection Sector. This role offers the successful candidate excellent prospects and a diverse range of responsibilities covering the complete product lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role within the Quality team with the aim of maintaining and improving the non-conformance management system, working within the multi-functional team to reduce the non-conformance backlog, facilitate and lead quality investigations and champion quality improvement initiatives.
This is an outstanding opportunity to network with and see a large variety of MBDA's functions and activities across all sites. The role will involve working on both national and multi-national projects, as well as with an established Quality network.
Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2/3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Management, Engineering or Project Management professional to join MBDA during a period of sustained growth. The Project Family you will be joining includes a multi-national collaboration at the forefront of MBDAs portfolio.
As a Non-Conformance Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the process of identifying, documenting, investigating, and resolving deviations from established standards in products, services, or processes. This includes leading teams, conducting root cause analyses, implementing corrective and preventive actions, ensuring compliance, and managing documentation and reporting for quality and continuous improvement. In addition to the above, the role shall also include:
Process management: Manage and improve the non-conformance management system. This includes using software to streamline processes and ensure adherence to company procedures and external requirements.
Investigation and analysis: Lead review boards, conduct root cause analyses, and investigate the underlying reasons for non-conformances to prevent recurrence.
Corrective and preventive actions (CAPA): Develop and implement corrective actions to fix the immediate problem and preventive actions to stop similar issues from happening in the future.
Stakeholder collaboration: Work with internal teams (e.g., engineering, quality, planning) and external partners (e.g., suppliers) to resolve issues and ensure that stakeholders are informed throughout the process.
Documentation and reporting: Maintain precise records of non-conformances, their investigations, and resolutions. Prepare and present metrics and reports to leadership teams.
Compliance and quality assurance: Ensure that all activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards, and work to improve overall product and process quality.
Team and resource management: Lead and manage engineering or quality staff, manage the budget, and allocate resources to effectively handle non-conformance workloads.
What we're looking for from you:
Experience in quality management, engineering, or project management.
Knowledge of non-conformance management processes and the ability to perform root cause analysis.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with quality management systems and potentially related software.
Ability to understand technical documentation, including drawings and standards.
