MBDA Rising Star recognised at the 2025 Novi Awards

We are very proud to share that, following several nominations for MBDA, one of our colleagues has been recognised at the Novi Awards as a Rising Star!

Now in their 15th year, the Novi Leadership Summit and Awards honour the impact of female leadership, innovation and entrepreneurism in business. The Awards highlight not only individual achievement, but leadership, positive influence, and commitment to empowering others.

Mechanical engineer, Katie, won the Rising Star award – a category recognising women early in their careers who demonstrate exceptional potential, without yet holding a leadership role. The judges gave particular praise to Katie for her passion and dedication to mentoring students.

Reflecting on winning the award, Katie said:

"The Novi awards are all about championing inclusion, embracing potential and showing up every day with the intention to make a positive impact on the people around you - so winning the Rising Star Award means a lot to me, as it shows me how far I’ve come since moving into a team leader role. It reinforces my desire to keep pushing myself to be better, and shows that I am on the right path in terms of my professional (and personal) development. I’m grateful for all the support, trust and opportunities that have helped shaped my journey so far.”

Katie’s success highlights MBDA’s commitment to nurture talent at every stage of the career journey – a commitment reflected in our Gold and Platinum Investors in People accreditations. Senior manager, Lee, who oversees Katie’s area of work, added:

“I’m incredibly proud of the outstanding work Katie has accomplished in such a short period of time. Her positivity and resilience inspire not only her immediate team but also her colleagues more widely, and she serves as a true role model for our early careers community. Being recognised in the Novi Awards—celebrating the exceptional contributions of women across industries—underscores the remarkable impact and performance Katie continues to deliver.”

At MBDA, we are committed to investing in our people, developing future leaders and encouraging colleagues to take up learning and development opportunities. We are proud to be recognised as a Platinum member of the 5% Club, demonstrating our dedication to providing high-quality 'earn & learn' opportunities.

Each year, we welcome over 200 Early Careers colleagues, ensuring each and every person who joins us receives the support, development and encouragement they need to thrive.
