Story
Meet David - Finding flexibility, growth and professional challenges at MBDA

Flexibility, growth and professional challenges are all part of Senior Engineer David’s MBDA story. Let him give you the full picture.

What does your job here involve?

I’m part of a team that designs and develops test equipment for MBDA. In my role specifically, I work on actuators. Right now, I’m working on the power supply systems for an actuator tester set for some new missiles we’re developing.

What do you think makes working here unique?

I’d have to say it’s the variety. You get to experience every genre of engineering – it’s all just a heartbeat away in this place. To be honest, absolutely nothing is the same here as anywhere else I’ve worked, and I mean that in a good way. I had friends here before I joined, and they told me how different it was. I’m very glad I listened to them.

What can you tell us about career development at MBDA?

I’ve only been here two years, so I haven’t changed role or team. But MBDA is very passionate about growth and training. They listen to your ambitions and get you up to speed and ready for your next step. They put people first, and this isn’t something I’ve experienced before in my career.

How do MBDA help you do your best work?

As well as all the training I just mentioned, they’re really good about flexible working. I like that I’m not tied to the nine-to-five here. You can start earlier or stay later if you want.
