Salary: Circe £65,000 depending on experience

The opportunity:
To lead and collaborate with a business unit in supporting the business across a diverse and varied set of activities. You will have management responsibility for one finance officer, with an aim of inspiring, developing and maintaining high levels of performance to enable successful delivery to our customers.
There is a breadth of duties, covering retrospective reporting and forward looking planning, that include but are not limited to:
- Leading on the monthly closing process including flash reporting on working day 2
- Collaboration on performance reporting to UK Management and Finance teams
- Building and maintaining trust and credibility with internal and external stakeholders
- Focus on in-year outlook process; capturing business risks and opportunities for Operating and Capital expenditure
- Liaison with French counterparts to provide consolidated group reporting for shared topics such as Group applications and cross company recharging
- Engagement with wider UK and international cost base teams to share ideas, best practice and cohesion between similar functions.
- Participate in cross directorate steering groups for infrastructure Capital investment planning and reporting; including Estimates at Completion
- Lead on business planning and support to other UK business units for allocation of directly attributable costs
There is opportunity to be involved in the shaping of our future cost controlling process and methodology by feeding into the requirements for our IMPACT transformation programme to S4/HANA. You will have the freedom to challenge the status quo.
You will influence and contribute to our budgeting and our 5 year planning process for UK cost base and Capital. This includes interfacing with a breadth of stakeholders to determine resourcing requirements and liaison with senior budget holders to advocate being "battle ready" by using a commercial understanding to support a balanced, pragmatic outcome for your business unit.
As a qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) accountant, your experience of managing multiple work streams with prioritisation, assessment and communication of these are critical to ensure effective delivery and enable a "no surprises" approach.
What we're looking for from you:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with an understanding of IFRS accounting
- An inquisitive mind set with courage to challenge the status quo and ask "why" to further develop their understanding of tasks and processes
- Proven ability in running multiple activities and driving projects and tasks to successful completion. with communication skills including awareness of communication styles required for all levels within the business; French language skills would be advantageous
- Act as a role model for the wider cost base team through living our MBDA values
- Experience of understanding and maintaining robust financial models and high volume data analysis
