Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working:4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

An opportunity has arisen for an HR Advisor to join the Operations UK HR business partnering team on a 12 month Fixed-Term contract. The role involves working closely with the Manufacturing UK business as well as within the wider HR function.
The role is based at our Bolton site, and requires regular on-site presence, as collaboration with colleagues and engagement with stakeholders is key. However, there will be opportunities to work from home when diary commitments and business needs allow.

What is the role?
- Responsible for people management activities within the Manufacturing UK business area of the Operations UK Directorate. Coaching, influencing and advising in all matters relating to people management ensuring effective people management activity (e.g. retention, capability, performance management, sickness absence, talent management).
- Working closely with the business area, acting as the key contact for complex people issues providing advice, coaching and solutions. Identifying development opportunities and coaching the management team through people issues to develop their management style.
- Working closely with the Function and Department Heads to understand the business challenges and the people issues that may arise, providing advice and solutions to problems.
- Coaching, advising and influencing Manufacturing UK to ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies and procedures. Developing strong effective working relationships across the business area including the Trade Unions.
- Working with managers to identify opportunities for HR to add value and help define people strategies which take into account implications for Operations UK, in line with the wider MBDA HR strategy.
- Supporting the business area in the development of tailored resourcing strategies ensuring the recruitment of the correct skills within headcount budgets.
- Participating in Operations UK HR team meetings and contributing to the planning of HR activities, developing ideas to improve processes and developing solutions to overcome problems.
- Organising and prioritising workload ensuring all deadlines are met, reviewing and monitoring priorities to ensure quality and standards are maintained.
- Contributing to new HR policy and process requirements as required.
- Ensuring HR calendar activities are delivered within time and to quality.
What we're looking for from you:
- Preferably with or working towards a CIPD or other relevant qualification.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, ability to flex, adapt and be resilient through periods of change.
- Self-motivated with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Established ability to build constructive working relationships and to coach and influence effectively.
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation, internal procedures and HR policy appropriately.
- Experience of the following; organisational design, skills for the future, strategic resource planning, knowledge management, employee engagement.
- Experience in providing HR business partnering and employee relations support to a multi-skilled business area.
- The ability to bring innovative HR solutions or ways of working to both the Operations HR Business partnering team as well as the Manufacturing UK business area.
- Ability to appreciate and seek to resolve complex organisational and business problems.
- Strong consultancy problem solving, coaching and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to influence other HR functions to support business requirements.
- Preferably some Trade Union experience or experience within a unionised environment.
- Ability to strike a balance between short, mid and long-term people management decisions ensuring that all needs are met in the most effective manner.
- Excellent PC skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Ability to travel in the UK for team meetings (approximately once per quarter), mostly to Stevenage/London.
