Salary: Circa £60,000depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification with a requirement for regular (monthly) travel within UK and some opportunity to work across MBDA NatCos.

The opportunity:
An exciting new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the team, responsible for the FC/ASW Equipment.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day design, setup and implementation of manufacturing systems throughout the product life cycle, from prototype to rate production. You will influence the development of FC/ASW Equipment with a particular focus on design for manufacture, assembly and test.
Your duties will include:
Growing and leading a multi-disciplined engineering team to cover a number of Equipment sub-systems across FC/ASW, whilst working closely with the Manufacturing SME and TX community
Industrial Validation of the internal and external supply chain, including support to MBDA NatCos through Inter company trading contracts
Responsible for leading the FC/ASW Equipment through the manufacturing lifecycle and validating the manufacturing system.
Close working with the FC/ASW Missile MEM and Programme Manager to ensure the successful delivery of contractual milestones.
As the manufacturing engineering lead for FC/ASW Equipment, your role will involve constantly investigating new approaches and techniques to manufacturing and their potential application within the specialised Defence sector of MBDA.
You will be instrumental in driving change in the business, implementing manufacturing improvements using alternative approaches such as automation, robots and the adoption of VR.
Being influential in the allocation of capital investment budgets, you will be key in ensuring that the facility remains at the forefront of missile manufacture and that competitive advantage is increased.
You will be key in driving continuous improvement through your team to ensure MBDA increases its market share in an environment of ever increasing competition.
Provide direction to the development of the skills and training required by the Engineers to keep pace with the emerging technologies in missile manufacture.
Support to bidding activities for future programmes / phases of work and take ownership of industrialisation work packages working closely with project managers.
What we're looking for from you:
Degree qualified or equivalent
Considerable relevant experience in a complex Electronic or Electro–Mechanical manufacturing environment.
Extensive experience in engineering leadership/management.
In depth knowledge of the design, make, prove interface role and Design for Manufacture and Test.
A good understanding of Project management and Supply Chain principles, practices and processes.
Good commercial and financial understanding.
Good Negotiating and influencing skills.
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrable management of a large team in a dynamic / ambiguous part of the product lifecycle
