We have an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of a Technology Development Programme (TDP) within a broader UK MoD Concept Phase activity for the Future Air Dominance System (FADS) programme in the Maritime domain.
Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
This TDP will be collaborative with broader industry, and explore an evolutionary approach in terms of complex weapons capability integrated into both current and future platforms, and in the context of broader UK Customer Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) strategy.
The successful candidate will be a strong technical leader and an analytical systems thinker, able to understand the complexities of integrated system of systems, translate future customer capability needs into coherent systems architecture and design, and drive the development of underpinning technologies and algorithms.
This role requires significant stakeholder engagement, and the ability to articulate complex ideas to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including to senior management, UK MoD customer community, and industrial partners.
You will be joining a team of highly skilled people working across the breadth of MBDA's current and future products. Your department is focussed on growing and developing a team of excellent System Architects. This is a small but experienced team focussed on technical solutions to integrated systems of systems, and delivery across all military domains to provide future capabilities for our Customers.
What we're looking for from you:
- Understanding of weapon systems, platforms, and battlespace architectures, and the UK customer future operating context. Previous experience working in the maritime weapon system domain desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of concept generation from understanding the future context and battle space through to tangible concept products or offerings. This should include work on trade studies.
- The ability and cultural awareness to lead a multi-disciplinary team across technologies and concept development
- Demonstrated delivery experience to the MoD customer, delivering on time, on cost, and to the agreed scope.
- Ability to set expectations, build trust, and represent MBDA effectively with the Customer, User, and Industry Partners
