Salary: £18,750 plus a £3000 joining bonus.

Security clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

The opportunity
Join the Electronic Engineering department for a chance to play a fundamental role in bringing together MBDA's missile systems: designing and integrating the electronics that drive our Weapon Control Units, Actuators, Telemetry & Communication Systems and more.
Our four-year programme for Electrical Engineering Apprentices is a fantastic opportunity for you to join an accredited engineering scheme that has developed some of the leading engineering apprentices in the UK.
The Electronic Engineering function manages the design and delivery of high technology electronic products for our projects. Our expertise includes:
On board missile equipment such a weapon controllers, fin actuators, safety systems and data links
Firing control units for land, naval and airborne platforms
Automatic test equipment
Electrical equipment
Training simulators
Countermeasures equipment
This opportunity would suit anyone that has a keen interest in how things work and is looking to learn and shape a career around a practical skill. We are looking for someone with a love for hands-on work, who wants to contribute to the delivery of our products.
Programme structure
You will study towards a BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Hertfordshire for 4 years, which will be fully funded by MBDA.
Your work week will consist of one day study leave to attend university, with the remaining four days completing rotational placements within the Electronic Engineering department as well as Mechanical Engineering and more general placements, such as ISP and datalinks. You'll get some lab experience, as well as the opportunity to create programs for SMT line and NPI work (New Product Introduction). You'll also have the opportunity to complete external placements outside of MBDA, with our external contractors and suppliers.

3 x A levels at minimum grade C including Maths and either Physics or a Technology/Engineering subject
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering at a minimum grade of DDM including a Distinction in Further Maths module.
T-Level at Merit or Distinction in an Engineering subject
Please note: We look at entry criteria based on your top three full A Levels or equivalent qualifications (BTEC/T Level). We do not include UCAS points gained from an Extended Project Qualification. Additionally, as an employer we set our own entry criteria based on the requirements of this role. This means that the criteria above may differ from the university.
