The Manufacturer MX Awards 2022

Two of our engineers working at our manufacturing site in Bolton, UK have been recognised by The Manufacturer MX Awards 2022.
Becky Simms, one of our Senior Manufacturing Engineers, has been shortlisted for the Young Manufacturer of the Year award, whilst her colleague Ryan Fairclough, also a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, was commended.
Becky will now go head-to-head with other finalists from across the country for first place in the category. Young Manufacturer category finalists going through to the second round of the competition will deliver a presentation at a judging day.
Reacting to the news of becoming a finalist for the award Becky said,
“It’s a real privilege to have been shortlisted for this award, and testament to all the support and encouragement I have received from my colleagues over the years. I am looking forward to representing MBDA at the judging day in September.”
Delivered by The Manufacturer in partnership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), The Awards have a combined heritage of over 50 years and are widely regarded as the gold standard in industry awards.
2022 has been an unprecedented year for entries with a significant number of entries from companies and individuals - all vying to win 11 category awards. This unprecedented number of entries extended to the Young Manufacturer category and judges decided to also award Commendations to several entrants that missed out from making the shortlist, which included Ryan.
The winners will be announced at The Manufacturer MX Awards gala dinner and ceremony on 17 November at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool.
Bolton is home to our state-of-the-art manufacturing site and the base for over 800 of our people.
The third quarter rankings for the UK’s Best Big Companies to Work For 2022 league table have us as the #1 employer in the manufacturing category, and in the top 5 overall.
