Software Apprentice Nominated For National Award

We are proud to share the news that one of our Software Engineering apprentices has been nominated for a 2023 Tech Industry Gold National Apprenticeship Award.

Marcus Thackeray, who started his apprenticeship at our Bolton site in 2020, was nominated by his line manager for the Business Contribution category. This award is for those in a Digital Apprenticeship role and recognises their contribution to their employer.

In nominating him, Marcus’s line manager highlighted how Marcus was making an exceptional contribution to developing, maintaining and delivering software far in advance of product manufacturing.

Securing his nomination, Marcus demonstrated his commitment to digital technology through his technical, business, project and professional development and outstanding impact and ability as an apprentice in his workplace.

Reacting to the news of his nomination, Marcus said, “I would like to thank my Line Manager for nominating me. Being nominated gives me a great sense of appreciation for the work I put in. Getting recognised for my work motivates me to keep doing what I’m doing.”

The Tech Industry Gold annual National Apprenticeship Awards celebrate the fantastic achievements of Degree Apprentices and recognise the impact that Degree Apprenticeships have on organisations and industry.

The winners will be announced at a special event in London on 7th February 2023.

Good luck Marcus!
