An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Manufacturing Engineering function for a PCB-A Lead Process Engineer to join the CCA/PCBA team.
Salary:Circa £52,000depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Leader to head up our Process Engineering Team. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about process excellence, continuous improvement and technical leadership.
Reporting to the PCBA Engineering Manager, the PCB-A Lead Process Engineer will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on driving efficiency, quality and scalability across our SMT, through-hole, dispensing & coating and other automated operations. You will champion process capability, introduce new technologies, and act as the technical authority on all aspects of PCB assembly automated processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop the Process Engineering team, ensuring high performance and technical capability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on yield enhancement, machine utilisation and technological advancements.
- Oversee the development, validation and optimisation of manufacturing processes, equipment and tooling
- Collaborate closely with production, quality and design teams to ensure manufacturing and process robustness
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition to volume production
- Manage Process documentation, control plans, PFMEA's and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate and introduce new equipment and technologies to maintain a competitive edge
- Monitor KPI's and report on process yields, downtime, cycle time and other operational metrics.
What we're looking for from you:
Qualifications:
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21
- AND
- Formal further education certificate to HND or equivalent in a relevant subject
- ALTERNATIVELY
- BEng/BSc in relevant Engineering/Technical Degree
Experience:
- Demonstrated People Management Experience
- Experience in Circuit Card Manufacturing or Design
- Knowledge of CCA/PCBA Processes and Technologies
