Cyber Security Engineer
I left school with three GCSEs Grade C and joined the British Army aged 17. I had a four year career, of which three were spent in Germany. I also completed a tour of Bosnia as part of SFOR.
My career at MBDA began as a Stores Operative - having achieved a forklift license prior to joining helped with my application and getting stuck in to a busy role and team.
Since then I have had a number of responsibilities and job roles, including Manufacturing Controller from 2017 - 2022, and as a Cyber Security Engineer since then.
At every stage of my career with MBDA there has been the opportunity to train and complete courses that benefit my role. In the stores this was in the form of different fork truck licences or crane licences in order to be able to carry out varying physical tasks. Then during my time within the Product Cyber Team much of my training has been to ensure I am fully compliant with new and updated regulations.
I feel a huge level of support within the business that I have never seen or felt with an organisation before. There are many different communities within MBDA for me, including the very active Armed Forces Community. Overall I feel that I am a valued part of the business - helping to shape it for the future for both new and fellow employees.
