Digital & Multimedia Officer

My military background: 

• Joined the Royal Air Force Police at 19
• Left after 6 years as an acting Corporal
• Deployed worldwide on operations including Herrick, Telic, Falklands, Kenya and Air Transport Security tasks globally
• Roles included general Police duties, Air Transport Security, Force Protection, Post Attack Recovery, scene of crime preservation, counter terrorist search and criminal investigations.

I joined MBDA in 2010 as a uniformed Security Officer.  Without really knowing it, I have had family ties with MBDA and previous companies in Stevenage and Hatfield. I spent three years working in Security on shift. In that time I built networks and ties with contacts in the business before making the jump to become a Business Support Officer in 2013.

Working as part of Communications, I was responsible for Secretarial duties, but ensured I volunteered for as many opportunities to get involved and add as much value as possible. In 2018, I joined Digital Communications, becoming responsible for a range of digital internal comms tools.  My main focus was people – teaching, coaching and mentoring our users to get the best from these applications.

Aside from the day job, I take a lead role in the company Armed Forces Community, organising events, communicating updates and coordinating our people to get the best from the network.

I’ve taken part in lots of fun charity events – Stevenage to Paris bike ride, 5km fun run, Charity Dinner photographer, Eyes on Hands on Volunteer for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, which MBDA allows me a day off for each year.
