We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to join a dynamic and collaborative team of procurement professionals.
Job Title: Procurement Sector Lead
Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience
Location: Stevenage/Bolton (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
As a Project Manager within the Procurement and Supply Chain function, you will play a vital role in the planning, execution, successful delivery and closure of projects throughout the whole Product lifecycle. (CADMID). You will also be responsible for defining and establishing a project management framework across the team - integrating the latest industry standards in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to drive and develop this role alongside the existing team.
The successful candidate is expected to hold project management qualifications and experience. A background in Aerospace and Defence is preferred, but not expected.
What we're looking for from you:
Managing the project life cycle from initiation through to closure, taking responsibility for the definition, approach, and execution of strategy, as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.
Supporting the wider procurement & supply chain teams, to ensure that projects are delivered effectively and efficiently within the agreed budget, timescale, scope and quality
Creating and maintaining a Project Plan, Budget Tracker, Line of Balance, Risk Register, and any other project artefacts required to ensure proper project tracking and reporting
Engaging with and representing internal teams within MBDA as required, including, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Planners, Data Analysts, Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.
Be the primary Procurement partner and integrated member of the programme team
Communicate Programme status, risks and mitigations to management groups at Functional and Programme reviews
Lead Procurement gate-reviews, manage and deliver Product Lifecycle tasks, manage critical supply issues, influence and actively participate in Programme & Manufacturing sector reviews.
Have a proven ability to develop, and implement, solutions in a matrix organisation supported by excellent communication, influencing and persuasion capabilities
Good appreciation of Procurement core competencies (Supplier evaluation, risk assessment, category management, negotiation, risk management etc.)
Strong Microsoft Office suite capability especially for data analysis and presentations (SAP, Word, Excel, Power Point).
Experience of using a variety of project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera etc.
Providing expert advice and support to colleagues in the field of project management methodologies and practices
